Tony Munn led 18 riders on a joint ride from the The Memorial Car Park Paddock Wood on a lovely spring morning. Tony was only asked two days before to lead thank goodness for the Maps Measure App, and as he had not cycled for a month chose a flat route. The group set off through Paddock Wood and headed out to Marden the route them took them out to Staplehurst and along the Headcorn Road past the dreaded road closed sign where Ray unfortunately came off his bike, no damage done thank goodness. Reaching Headcorn the group then did a circuit via Smarden Road to the airfield. Always an interesting stop with planes and parachutists and today was no exception. Coming back Tony took them via Water Lane to the main road back to Staplehurst and Marden. At Battle Lane the group did a loop around Marden. The group continued back via Yalding before battling a strong breeze on the route back via Laddingford.

Distance 40 miles Average Speed 13.6mph.

Thankyou Tony for taking over at such short notice and for leading such a lovely and lengthy route at a really good pace..Sure that everyone enjoyed it,including the non regular riders. Our alternative ride of the Surrey Hills was also good,Certainly challenging.
