D+ ride from Barming to Headcorn

On  Saturday 31st March ten cyclists set off from St Andrews Road towards North street, on a day that threatened to rain, but never did :-) . We crossed the Medway via the Barming footbridge, working up some minor hills before descending Westhill Road, then on to the very stiff climb of Vanity Lane. No complaints, so we descended via Linton Hill, then on to another climb; Loddington Lane. We eventually descended the ridge at Chart Sutton, taking minor lanes to our lunch stop in Headcorn. Leaving Headcorn in westerly direction, then south down Water Lane,  working our way  south of Staplehurst,  a short ascent took us into Staplehurst, then we took the most direct route to Marden and then on to the base of Hunton Hill.  Onto Lughorse Lane and ascended the steep Barn Hill, where the youngest member of the party (Jonathan) did the climb in the large chain ring. We then took the small lanes to East Farleigh, crossed the Medway working back to base via Gatland lane. Almost incident free; with only 0.05 of a mile to go, Bob tried to bunny hop a kerb , but ended up with a spectacular somersault  .

We covered 35.5 miles at 12.0 MPH ascending 2200 feet.
